Posted on April 27, 2022 at 6:50 PM

I have been rehearsing regularly with two friends, Stuart Neal on guitar and Neville Hermes on electric bass.  We collectively call ourselves Three For The Road, with Naoki Kimpara joining us occasionally on drums.  We play at the Barrier Reef Hotel with the Tropical Jazz Club of Cairns when invited to do so.  The Jazz Club events occur every Sunday fortnight.

Together, we perform some of the most popular jazz titles, and will often feature an "open mic" segment for anyon...

Covid-19 Situations

Posted on October 7, 2020 at 6:55 PM

Because the entire world is in a virtual lockdown with so many restrictions, I've not been immune to this at all.  In fact, I haven't performed at a real venue since early February, when the proverbial started to hit the fan.

Now that Queensland has relaxed a lot of the restrictions regarding weddings, music venues and restaurants, we are slowly beginning to come back into the world of entertainment.

It's been a long, hard road to travel, these last nine months or so, and I''...

Because of numerous "spam" comments, some very offensive, I've had to disable comments completely on this page.  It's terrible that some have to flog crap at every opportunity, but such is the situation in this world.

Virus Situation hits hard!

Posted on March 23, 2020 at 6:20 PM

I'll no longer be posting notices of myself regarding availability, because here in Australia, all gatherings are forbidden, and all licensed clubs and venues, restaurants and cafes, cinemas, ch...

Posted on August 21, 2019 at 1:55 AM

Hi all

I realise I haven't written on my blog for some time, and hope I'll be forgiven.  Latest news that Ros, I and Sarah and her boyfriend are off to Canada for the month of September.  Actually, Sarah arrived in Vancouver on the 20th of August, we will join her and Clancy on Tuesday the 27th.

This obviously means that I will not be available for the entire month of September, but return on the 27th.

Until then, do take care and I'll see you back at Rick's at Bar...
